Nancy Pearl, America's rock star librarian

It sounds like a contradiction but Nancy Pearl is a celebrity librarian. In fact, she's such a big celebrity in the US that the Nancy Pearl Librarian action figure, complete with 'amazing push-button shushing action' outsells many other dolls on toy store shelves.

Nancy will provide entertaining and moving talks "Yes, M'am: Mood, Appeal, and Motivation in Providing Excellent RA Service" and "Keeping Book Clubs Happy and Healthy: Tips and Tricks". She's also the author of Book Lust and More Book Lust: Recommended Reading for Every Mood Moment and Reason.  

The State Library of Queensland visit is part of Nancy's Australian tour taking in the State Library of New South Wales, the Dubbo Public Library, and the State Libraries of Victoria and South Australia.

Nancy is visiting Australia during December and we hope you will join us for the seminar followed by a tour of the new State Library Building at South Bank and Christmas drinks.
